With only a couple of windows, my basement was dark and unwelcoming. My basement office was uninspiring and if I'm being honest, I found myself avoiding it. I thought that more windows would help me to enjoy the time I spent in this huge part of my home. With little options available, I decided to make my own. The Winfaux was born and here we are!
If you have any bare walls or rooms that could use a little more light and a view, then a WINFAUX might be the solution for you!
We're a small team from Ottawa, but we're able to ship WINFAUX products anywhere.

What is a WINFAUX?
Proudly made in Canada, a WINFAUX is a faux window with interchangeable Winfaux View Panels, or image scenes. You can choose from our monthly WINFAUX view panels, or customize the WINFAUX with any image you choose. It's an economical, beautiful, and simple solution to a windowless wall. When a real window isn't feasible, then the WINFAUX is the solution. And with a wide range of view panels and unlimited customizable options, your view will never be limited again.
What are WINFAUX benefits?
Windows offer many benefits, including light, a view, and even comfort. In fact, research suggests that offices with scenic views help people become more productive and happy and that light is the tool to combat seasonal depression disorder.
But windows aren't always a viable option. Windows obviously cannot be installed on interior walls and installing windows on exterior walls is expensive.
A WINFAUX provides 6500k simulated daylight, similar to that of a bright sunny day. Winter blues? Gloomy day? A WINFAUX™'s light isn't affected by the weather.

What are WINFAUX's measurements?
The WINFAUX light box measures 24" x 24" and 5" thick from back to front and the WINFAUX view panels measure 23.5" x 23.5".
However, we are eager and open to building a custom WINFAUX as well.
Please note: The thickness of the box is what creates the illusion of depth. Custom thinner options may be available but view quality would be sacrificed.

How do I install a WINFAUX?
The standard install is super simple. The WINFAUX comes with an inset Hangman Z-Hanger affixed to the back so the WINFAUX light box can be flush-mount to the wall. A 6" wall bracket and hardware are provided and can be installed directly into drywall if no stud is available.
The second option is a little more difficult. The Inset-WINFAUX Faux Window can be installed between two studs in a wall, if the studs are spaced apart appropriately. We can assemble the WINFAUX to fit within a wall and with a wider trim so that the frame overlays the wall. We also offer the WINFAUX slide and glide to keep it secured to the wall, but easy to remove for image changes.
But remember, the WINFAUX Faux Window requires a power source. Some customers have installed an outlet behind the drywall, underneath the placement of the WINFAUX for a completely inset WINFAUX, the ultimate solution.

What are WINFAUX'S power requirements?
The WINFAUX is powered by the future of lighting: LEDs, so you can be rest assured that operating a WINFAUX will cost a fraction of that of most other lighting options.
It plugs into your standard 120v power outlet (Type A, specifically).
The light box offers 6 levels of brightness and operates with 12v working voltage and ETL listed power adapter for safe use.
What is WINFAUX's light source?
We use super-quality dimmable 2835 LEDs to offer you ultra brightness. A Govee wired remote is provided with a power button and dimmer so you can set it to your preferred brightness from 6 available options.
It's simple to use, and an excellent light source.
300 LEDs offer a superior brightness, 6500k natural daylight. The WINFAUX is the closest thing to a real window, when a real window isn't feasible.
Best of all, LED's have an incredibly long life span. You can expect to get over 50,000 hours of life out of these reliable and ecofriendly LEDs.
